Just redownloaded the installer and it worked. Seems like Rockstar have fixed the bug I was encountering as I was just able to install the launcher without doing anymore troubleshooting. I haven't seen anyone with the same issue as me from searching online and wondered if anyone has run into this or knows a fix. The last thing they suggested was reinstalling GTA V, which I am doing, but as I said before I don't think it'll work. I've submitted a ticket to Rockstar Support but so far all of their troubleshooting has been completely unrelated to my issue as it requires me to have the launcher installed. Although I don't think that'll solve my issue as I am still getting the error when trying to install the launcher. So I've now uninstalled every Rockstar program I had installed, deleted all Rockstar folders I could find and I am currently reinstalling GTA V.
Please close down the Rockstar Games Launcher before running this installer. I went and downloaded the installer from the Rockstar website but when I try and run it, it says: If you're playing on the Steam Deck, first check Valve's game compatibility list to see if your. So I verified the game files via Steam and it went through the first time setup and it got to the part where it installs the launcher and then I got the error again. If you're playing on a Windows PC, all you need to do is download and install these games. Unable to locate Rockstar Games Launcher, please verify game data. You can do so manually by navigating to your main Library folder Application Support and then deleting the steam folder. When the new launcher came out I tried running GTA V through Steam and immediately got an error message that said: Open Steam Preferences ( + ,) Go to the Downloads tab Click Clear Download Cache It’s also beneficial to delete Steam cache files overall.
